Wisconsin Remembers: A Face For Every Name is a traveling banner display featuring more than 1,100 photos of Wisconsinites listed on both the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. and the Highground Memorial Park in Neillsville, Wisconsin. The photos were collected over the course of some twenty years by volunteers throughout the state as part of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund’s (VVMF) effort to find a photo for every person listed on the Wall in D.C. The traveling banner display is special because it allows people throughout the state to honor our veterans – our sons, brothers, fathers, friends and neighbors – in our communities. It will ensure that Wisconsin veterans killed in Vietnam will be remembered and honored througout Wisconsin. This display consists of 17 large, 3’ x 8’ portable stand banners that – when set up side by side – will form a nearly 55’ long photo display of every Wisconsinite on the Wall. The photos are approximately 2” x 3.5” and include the name, rank, Wisconsin home of record, birth year and year killed-in-service for each veteran. The images are organized by county and alphabetically by last name to make it easy for people to track down the names in their community.
This display is open to all who wish to honor our Wisconsin veterans.
