This just in – we will be showing “The Invisible Mammal”, a documentary about bats, Wednesday, October 29th at 7pm – Just in time for Halloween! An all-woman team of biologists set out to save bats from a deadly fungal disease, but when the COVID-19 pandemic interrupts their work, they are sent down a path of discovery that illuminates the connections between bat conservation and the spread of infectious disease. All around us, roosting in trees or crevices, or silently migrating through our neighborhoods, bats go unseen. And now, at a time when bats have been blamed for causing a global pandemic, a new documentary about bat conservation will dispel myths about how pandemics are caused and spread, while also illustrating how bats’ super-immunity may hold a key to our own survival, but only if we can save them from a disease threatening their very existence.
